There are several reasons to use the Shin Trainer Pro. Below are a few examples:
With the Shin Trainer Pro your ankle gets stronger over a larger movement. This kind ensures that your mobility increases. This can certainly contribute to improving sports performance, also among top athletes!
A Shin Trainer Pro works well because you can focus exactly on the muscles and tendons that you want to strengthen. In addition, you can very well keep an eye on the progress. You work with weights that you can build up slowly, just like with a squat, for example.
The Shin Trainer Pro ensures that you become stronger in a larger movement. This allows you to make progress in other exercises as well. For example, the squat can go deeper without the load going more to the back than to the legs.
Anyone can start with the Shin Trainer Pro, whether you put weight on it or without a start, the exercise can be adapted to every level.
The exercise you perform with the Shin Trainer Pro is fairly simple. You make sure you sit with your legs on a flat surface, legs stretched and your foot should be able to hang slightly over the edge.
You put your feet into the Shin Trainer Pro, let the feet hang down, and raise them in a gentle movement as far as you can.
Then slowly bring your feet back down and repeat this exercise.
How much weight you use depends on your level. Your goal should be to complete 5 sets of 20 reps in about 5 minutes. So don’t rest too much between sets. If you don’t get the 5 sets, you will have to use less weight, although you will probably be able to handle this weight easily in the beginning.
How do you determine the number of kilos? I use a percentage of your body weight. I myself am around 10%, but if you are just starting out, 5% is probably quite a task. Not at first, but the last set is going to be quite a challenge. Of course you can also just start without additional weight. The Shin Trainer Pro of course already weighs a few kilos, so you can start with that too. If that’s even too heavy, just do without it, so just your feet.
The Shin trainer has tubes with a diameter of 50 mm and is therefore only suitable for 50 mm discs.
The Shin Trainer Pro is made of stainless steel (SS) and is firmly welded so that it can withstand a high load. Finished with foam at the top of the foot for a little more comfort.
In the photo on the left you can see how best to place your weights. First the discs, then the clamp. In this way the weight moves the least during the workout and the weight is always in the same place so that you can properly experience whether progress is being made.
